Mary Theresa Losecco – (97) – formerly of 44 East Main St., Hornell, died Thursday afternoon (May 30, 2024) at the Wellsville Manor Nursing Facility in Wellsville, NY where she resided for the past two years.

A native & life resident of Hornell, she was born September 14, 1926 and was the daughter of Anthony & Josephine (Marino) Losecco.

Mary attended St. Ann School and later attended Hornell High School. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann’s church.

She had been employed as a “vegetable sorter” at Birdseye Corporation in Mt. Morris and later worked as a “cutter” at the former Marion Rohr Corporation in Hornell. For many years she served as a volunteer at St. James Hospital, the Hornell Senior Center and was also an RSVP volunteer. She enjoyed spending countless hours working on puzzles.

Mary was preceded in death by 3 brothers Salvatore “Toddy” Losecco, Frank Losecco and Anthony Losecco; 4 sisters, Julia Scheira, Felecia Losecco, Annie Messina and Eva Armetta.

Surviving are many nieces & nephews.

At Mary’s request there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday (June 7, 2024) at 12:00 Noon at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Final interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mary’s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to either St. Ann’s School or St. Ann’s Church, 27 Erie Ave., Hornell, NY 14843. Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.
