Andre R. “Andy” Bouchard – 45 – of 6340 County Route 68 (Crosby Creek Rd.), Hornell, died Tuesday morning (July 11, 2017) at his home, following a long illness.
Born in Watertown, NY on January 11, 1972, he was the son of Rene “Jay” & Joan (Converse) Bouchard.
Andy was a lifelong resident of Hornell and was a graduate of Alfred-Almond Central School (class of 1990). He later earned his Registered Nurses’ Degree from Alfred State College.
Throughout the years, Andy was employed as a registered nurse at several area institutions, including St. James Mercy Hospital, Eldercare at Hornell and Taylor Health Care in Bath, NY.
He was a gifted photographer, specializing in outdoor scenery, wilderness & nature photos. He had a deep love and appreciation of the outdoors and loved to capture the beauty and wonderment of the world in all its glory. He also loved to spend time simply fishing and bonding with nature.
Andy was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and was a former member of St. Ignatius Loyola Church. More recently he was a member of St. Ann’s Church of Hornell and St. Jude Parish of Alfred. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football, baseball & basketball on TV.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan who died in 2004.
Surviving are his father, Rene “Jay” Bouchard of Hornell; 1 sister, Michelle Mellencamp of Greenwood, IN; 2 brothers, John (Sandi) Bouchard of Ontario, NY and Jacques “Jay” (Janet) Bouchard of Cocoa, FL; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.
At Andy’s request there will be no calling hours. Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.
Andy’s family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Po Box 1000, Dep’t 300, Memphis, TN 38148.
