My most sincere condolences to the Marcus Family. I have beautiful memories of Ruth as well as Gordon, John and the rest of the family. It was always fun on the hill. Ruth was ahead of her time in many ways- Marcus’ were the first ones in the 50s and 60s smart enough to drive a 4×4 jeep..Ruth always welcomed guests even though she had 6 kids of her own to feed..I visited Ruth when she was in her 90s and had a wonderful time sharing memories with her..I found her not only physically attractive but so “elegant” indeed…she reminded me of Katherine Hepburn! Ruth was a “renaissance” woman..a rarity..I was privileged to have known her.

Dear Steve,Susie, Kathy, Lee,Karl and all the grandkids, Your Mom was so proud of all of you and she was lucky to have such a large and caring family. I will always remember how beautiful she was and I can’t help but smile when I recall some of the laughs we shared–mostly about you kids! Whenever I see a white violet I’ll think of her and ones we discovered in the front yard. Please know that my sympathy is with you as well as my regret at not being there to honor a wonderful woman.

I have been blessed to have known John, fun those many years ago; and Susie, fighting the good fight, and Lee in such a fun-loving musical way. I will remember the delight I felt to be invited in a surprise for Ruth on that special Valentine’s Day, the sing-a-long and wonderful chocolates everywhere. It was festive and her daughters surely carry on her legacy.

    My condolences to the family.

To the family of Ruth Marcus: I want to send my thoughts and prayers to the family. Oh so many years ago at Knollwood Farms I rode an english saddled horse with Ruth guiding me every step of the way. Yes, she was a classy lady. Sincerely
