Michael A. Stepanian, SR

Michael A. Stepanian, SR. – (97) – of 71 Church St. Court, Hornell, died Thursday morning (September 29, 2011) at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA following a brief illness.

Born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 5, 1913, he was the son of Zakar & Helen (Kasbarian) Stepanian.

Mike grew up in Niagara Falls and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.  He resided in Florida for most of his life where he was employed in the Hotel & Restaurant business in many capacities, including waiter & Maître d.

He has resided in Hornell since 2006.

Mike was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hornell.  He was a lifelong golfer and enjoyed taking his daily walks.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ina and his second wife, Tressie

Surviving are 2 sons, Michael (Audrey) Stepanian of Hornell and Robert (Patricia) Stepanian of Concord, NC.

There will be not prior calling hours.  A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Hornell with Rev. Michael Stepanian, JR and Rev. Jerry Springston officiating.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.

    The American Red Cross will miss Mr. Stepanian.
    He came to see us regularly, with a huge smile and flirting with all the food pantry volunteers!

    He would tell us of his travels abroad and thoroughly entertained us all.

    I will miss Mr. Stepanian’s presence in our pew. He was a delightful man. I have just come to know he was a special friend to my son and the other children at church, often giving them a treat. We are blessed for having known him.

    Mike was a wonderful man. Every now and then he would stop in at the V.F.W and have a Labatts and chat with us all. It was a pleasure to serve him.

    Michael used to call into our Travel Agency(located in Scotland).He always had a smile and I considered him to be a friend.He will be missed by all our staff.
