Mary Bobownik – (91) – formerly 23 Hart St., Hornell, died Saturday evening (September 4, 2010) at St. James Mercy Hospital following a brief illness.
A native & life resident of Hornell, she was born April 16, 1919, and was the daughter of George & Anna Bobownik.
Mary was a graduate of Hornell High School (class of 1937). She had been a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann’s Church.
She was employed for 39 years as credit manager at the former Sears & Robuck Store in Hornell.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Downey.
Surviving are her brother, William “Bill” Bobownik of Hornell; 4 nieces & 1 nephew.
At Mary’s request there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at St. Ann’s Church.
