Rosaire “Frenchy” Morneault

Rosaire J. “Frenchy” Morneault – (78) – of 3651 Weaver St., Rochester, died early Friday morning (September 26, 2014) at the Leo Center for Caring Facility in Rochester, following a long illness.

Born in Eagle Lake, ME on August 27, 1936, he was the son of Seigfroid & Albertine (Labby) Morneault.

Frenchy grew up in Maine where he graduated from high school.  He was a Veteran of the US Air Force, serving his country from 1954 – 1956.  He has resided in the Rochester area for over 50 years.

Throughout the years, Frenchy had been employed at several places, including the VA Hospital in Bath, McFadden’s in Dansville and for many years was a warehouse worker for Eagle Specialty of Rochester, NY.  He retired in 1990.

Rosaire enjoyed all forms of gardening, including grapes, apple trees & tomatoes.  He also enjoyed watching and attending sporting events, such as the Buffalo Bills and Roller Derby and thoroughly loved country & western music.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Morneault; 2 sisters, Ethyline Warner and Serline Jones.

Survivors include his dear friend, Charles Slaght of Rochester; 2 nieces Tonia (Francesco) Puccio of Webster and Debbie (Floyd) Ricci of Whitmore, MI;

At Rosaire’s request there will be no calling hours.  Private graveside services will be held at Rural Cemetery in Hornell at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.
