I remember Elaine Boyle as one of the most hard-working, loyal, and enthusiastic employees I’ve known during my employment at St. James Mercy Hospital. When we needed employees to fill the buses going to Albany years ago to advocate for healthcare legislation, Elaine was the first one to sign up! She was always honest and truthful, and wasn’t afraid to let you know how she felt about anything. You knew where you stood with Elaine, but she also had a wonderful sense of humor! She was a little spitfire, but in a good way! I will always remember her fondly and am honored to have known her. The laundry was never the same without you Elaine….May you Rest in Peace my friend.
I met Elaine in Opelika AL at the Denson Rec Center when she first moved here. We took Silver Sneakers Classes together. She always talked about her boys back in New York ( Ronnie, Donnie , and Tommie and the grandchildren and grand dogs . We took several day trips together with our group, the Recycled Teenagers. I always tried to get her to ask Barbara to join us, but I think that Barbara felt this was Elaine’s “thing”. My most memorable trip with Elaine was Mardi Gras in Fairhope Al and of course when ever we went to Orange Beach. She loved the beach and loved the Mardi Gras parades. I got to meet her sons when they came for her surgery and again a few weeks ago. They always made us laugh. She will surely be missed by all our group. Boys, the Flamingos at the grave site is soooo Elaine! She is smiling down from heaven.:) Good bye my friend, Sonja
