Linda M. Halbert – 59 – of 51 West Ave., Arkport, died early Wednesday morning (July 10, 2013) at her home, following a long illness.

Born in Hornell on August 1, 1953, and was the daughter of Jason & Evelyn (Silsby) Coddington.

Linda was a lifelong resident of the Arkport / Canaseraga area and attended school in Canaseraga.  For about 10 years, she was employed as a bartender at the Hornell Bowl.  She was an avid bowler and bowled in a ladies league on Wednesdays and a mixed league on Sundays.  Her true joy in life, however, was simply spending quality time with her family.

She was married on May 23, 1970 to Robert P. Seeley JR who died in an automobile accident on June 7, 1970, two weeks after their wedding.

On March 17, 1972, Linda married Lloyd L. Halbert JR who survives.  Also surviving are her children, Christina Seeley-Perry of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael Halbert of Bishopville, Stacey Halbert of Arkport, Wendy Halbert-Davis of Greenwood, Angela Halbert of Hornell and Landon Halbert of Arkport; 2 brothers, Royce “Butch” Coddington of Canisteo and Mark (Dorothy) Coddington of Arkport; 1 sister, Teresa Coddington of Arkport; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; several nieces & nephews.

The family of Linda M. Halbert will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be in Arkport Cemetery.

Linda’s family request that memorial contributions in her name be made to the Landon Halbert Trust Fund, CO Wendy Davis, 3141 County Route 61, Andover, NY 14806.  Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.
