Angela M. Palazzo

Angela M. Palazzo – (94) – formerly of 106 Elizabeth St., died Monday evening (December 3, 2012) at McAuley Manor where she has resided for the past 12 years.

Born in Hornell on October 19, 1918, she was the daughter of Frank & Mary (Grieco) Gallicchio.  Angela was a graduate of St. Ann’s School and Hornell High School.  She had been employed for several years as a weaver at Stern & Stern Textile (formerly Huguets).

On July 13, 1963, she married Dominic Palazzo who died in 1985.  Together they resided in Endicott, New York.  Angela returned to Hornell in 1994.  While in Endicott, Angela was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of the Ladies of Columbus and Sons of Italy.  While residing in Hornell, she was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church, a member of the Ladies of Columbus, Catholic Daughters of America and a member of the Italian & American Woman’s Club (formerly Sons of Italy auxiliary).

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dominic Gallicchio who died in 1968; and her sisters Antoinette Daniels who died in 1992 and Marian Brzozowski who died in 1999.

Surviving are her step-children, Patrick Palazzo, Michael Palazzo and Mary Linda Kervin; 1sister, Josephine Brzozowski of Parma, OH (formerly of Hornell); several step-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

The family of Angela M. Palazzo will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 PM until
7:00 PM at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church.  Burial will be in
St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Angela’s family request that memorial contributions in her name may be made to either
St. Ann’s Academy, PO Box 446, Hornell, NY 14843 or to St. Ann’s Church, 27 Erie Ave., Hornell, NY 14843.  Memorial forms will be available at the Dagon Funeral Home.
